Latest stage of Coodanup Foreshore upgrades complete
Another section of the Coodanup Foreshore transformation is now complete, with works wrapping up on Stage 4 of the major foreshore upgrades.
The latest improvements have created a safer and better-connected stretch of foreshore for the community to walk, relax and enjoy, while retaining the natural character of this special part of Mandurah.
Stage 4 works included a new path along John Street, connecting with the existing pathway and paving the way for the final connection through Stage 5. Repairs have also been completed to the existing path along Peel Parade.
New park furniture and shelters provide more places to stop and enjoy the foreshore, while new accessible parking bays have been formalised along John Street. Existing verge parking along John Street has also been retained.
New bollards have been installed to create clearer separation between vehicles and pedestrians, helping improve pedestrian safety and protect pathways, trees and the surrounding foreshore from vehicle damage. Improving pedestrian safety and connectivity were key considerations in the Stage 4 design.
What’s next?
With Stage 4 complete, attention now turns to Stage 5, the final stage of the Coodanup Foreshore upgrades.
Following community consultation earlier this year, planned works include:
- a formalised car park at the end of John Street
- a new footpath completing the final pathway connection
- new park furniture and shelters
- planting of shrubs and trees across Stages 2 to 5
- informational signage across the upgraded foreshore.
The final stage will continue the broader transformation of Coodanup Foreshore, improving connections and amenities while enhancing the area's natural environment.
